Severe weather possible on Sunday in western Nebraska

The severe weather threat that has engulfed western Nebraska is not over yet. The National Weather Service has placed the western half of Nebraska in at least a slight risk for severe weather.

The severe weather threat that has engulfed western Nebraska is not over yet. 

The National Weather Service has placed the western half of Nebraska in at least a slight risk for severe weather. Parts of the eastern Panhandle are under an enhanced risk for severe thunderstorms. 

Forecasters say the weather will develop this afternoon and track northeast across the area. The main threats are large hail and damaging winds. Tornadoes can not be ruled out with this weather system, according to the National Weather Service.
