NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - On Friday, the community of Sutherland shared exciting news about a Veterans Memorial. Anchor Park is the new home of the dedication stone and has become a new hot spot for the town. The memorial serves as a special recognition for service personnel from Sutherland who were killed in action.

Friday marked the completion of the first out of four phases. The Sutherland Growth Committee hopes to have phase two, which is lighting the memorial, completed by this summer. An additional five stones will be added during the third phase. Each stone will list the names of those who served our country.
