Grass fire burns eight acres near Crawford

A fire reported around 1:30 Sunday afternoon a dozen miles southeast of Crawford burned a little over eight acres.

Crawford Fire Chief Brian Prosser says the Traci Fire was human-caused and burned mostly dead and downed timber as well as some areas of grass.

Prosser says Crawford firefighters were joined by units from the Hemingford VFD and U-S Forest Service as well as neighbors and landowners.
