Lourdes Students Qualify For National History Day Competition

NEBRASKA CITY- Congratulations to Lourdes Central Catholic students Evie Dorman, Sarah Gygi, and Jagar Matson, 8th grade, for qualifying for the National History Day competition! The theme this year is “Communication in History.”
Jagar placed 2nd at the state contest in the Junior Individual Exhibit category with his project: Father Flanagan – The Voice for the Unheard.
Evelyn Dorman and Sarah Gygi placed 1st in the Junior Group Documentary category with their project: Sacajawea: The Greatest Translator.
Jagar also won Honorable Mention in the Junior Division of Special Prizes category sponsored by the NEBRASKALand Foundation.
The national competition is regularly held in Washington, D.C., but due to the pandemic it will be virtual again this year. Congratulations to all three national qualifiers and their teachers Mrs. Elise Buck and Mrs. Wendi Buggi!
