Southeast Nebraska Polar Plunge Held In Nebraska City
NEBRASKA CITY-Recently the Special Olympics of Nebraska along with local law enforcement agencies, participated in the Southeast Nebraska Polar Plunge.
There are 6 Polar Plunges in Nebraska for 2021 that include Chadron, Kearney, Lincoln, Omaha, Panhandle, and Southeast.
The Southeast Plunge was held at Wildwood Park Pond in Nebraska City, and even though the sun was bright the water was still cold enough to take your breath away. Several law enforcement agencies took part in the plunge including the Nebraska State Patrol, Nebraska City Police Department and Nemaha County Sheriff's Office.
Due to the continuing effects of COVID-19 the plunge participation numbers were lower than past years, but that didn't stop the event from raising $225 for the Special Olympics Nebraska.
