SIDNEY - Outdoor burning is not recommended Saturday in the Nebraska Panhandle and northeast Colorado.

A red flag warning for gusty winds and low humidity is in place until 7 p.m. Saturday for areas such as Cheyenne, Kimball, Banner, Scotts Bluff, Box Butte, Morrill, Garden, Deuel and Keith Counties in Nebraska; and Logan, Sedgwick and Phillips Counties in Colorado.

Wind speeds will be sustained out of the south at 15 to 20 mph, with gusts at 25 to 30 mph.

The National Weather Service says any fired that develop will likely spread rapidly. A Red Flag Warning means critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now or will shortly. A combination of gusty winds, low relative humidity and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.
