Wallace man jailed, accused of stabbing another man

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - 34-year old Wallace resident Daniel Swanson is in custody in the Lincoln County Jail after being arrested for stabbing a 36-year old Wallace man on Sunday around 1:00 p.m., at a residence in the small Lincoln County town south west of North Platte.

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department says on February 21 at 12:54 p.m., the Lincoln County 911 Center received a report of a disturbance in Wallace. It was reported a man was stabbed by another man in the Village of Wallace.

Deputies on and off duty, responded to the scene and quickly found Swanson at his residence.

The man stabbed fled to a neighbor’s house to call for help after the stabbing. Deputies provided first aid for multiple stab wounds. Wallace Fire and Rescue responded and he was flown to Great Plains Health via helicopter.

It was reported the man was later flown to Lincoln for further treatment. His status was rated as serious and potentially life threatening. The man was able to report Swanson as the one who stabbed him.

Deputies arrested Swanson for First Degree Assault and Use of a Weapon to Commit a Felony. Deputies continued the investigation by executing a search warrant of the residence. The investigation into this matter is ongoing.
