BEATRICE - Several communities served by the Norris Public Power District are being affected by half-hour rolling blackouts, due to high electric demand and low power supply in a wide area of the midwest.

Norris Public Power District reports the next group of scheduled Southwest Power Pool rolling blackouts in the Norris territory are the areas of Bruning, Daykin and Hebron.

Prior to that, the areas of Tamora, Utica, Staplehurst, Dewitt, Clatonia, Swanton, Western, Holmesville, Blue Springs, Wymore and Rockford were to be affected by the roughly thirty minute outages.

Earlier, southwest of Lincoln including the areas of Pleasant Dale, Denton, Martell, Rokeby and east of Lincoln near Walton were without power due to Southwest Power Pool issuing rolling blackouts.
