Dangerously cold wind chills continue through Tuesday morning

CHAPPELL - Another night of very cold temperatures and low wind chill values are in the forecast across western and central Nebraska.
"As high pressure moves eastward over the next few days, milder air will have a chance to move in, albeit slowly," News Channel Nebraska Chief Meteorologist Geoff Fox said. "Last night was a little colder than tonight, so we have bottomed or surely will by Tuesday morning."
According to the National Weather Service office in Cheyenne, air temperature readings will be between zero and seven degrees below zero.
Wind chill advisories and warnings are posted for a portion of the Nebraska Panhandle until Tuesday morning. The feels-like temperature could be as low as 25 to 40 degrees below zero.
The weather service advises avoiding outside activities, if possible. When outside, make sure you wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves. The dangerously cold wind chills could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 10 minutes.
