A portion of a decades-old building in metro Nebraska collapsed Wednesday night.

The building has been used for many different purposes over the years in north Omaha.

Some people even heard the structure come down.

“There was a loud noise about 10 o’clock last night,” one neighbor told WOWT in Omaha. “I just thought that it was a truck, a dumpster, so I didn’t come out and look.”

Neighbors say the building near 24th and Evans streets has been around since the 1930s, when it was a grocery store. It has also housed a laundromat and a church.

Now, the future of the old building is unsure.

No word yet on what the owner plans to do with the property.
