ALLIANCE - Two people were transported to the hospital for possible smoke inhalation after a house fire on the 1100 block of Platte Avenue in Alliance Thursday morning. 

According to the Alliance Fire Department, the fire was in a room on the west side of the home and a moderate amount of smoke was seen coming from the basement. Firefighters saw little to no smoke until they entered the home at 6:40 a.m. 

The blaze was quickly extinguished and smoke was ventilated from the home. 

One adult female and one juvenile male were home at the time of the fire. They were transported to Box Butte General Hospital for observation.

The fire remains under investigation by the Nebraska State Fire Marshal’s Investigation Division and Alliance Fire Department. The Alliance Police Department, City of Alliance Public Works Department, City of Alliance Electrical Department and Black Hills Energy also responded to the scene.
