HARTINGTON — It follows a pair of veterinarians from Hartington as they help animals all across the state.

The married stars of the show,  northeast Nebraska veterinarian doctors Erin and Ben Schroeder,  are eager to hear fans' reactions.

"We are super excited to tell a Nebraska story," said Erin Schroeder.

The show, Heartland Docs, has brought national acclaim to the state. This third season is now available to international audiences, too. The next step will be for it to renew for a fourth season.

The veterinarians say they've heard from fans that they didn't realize how beautiful and full of animals Nebraska was. But while it may have changed outsiders' opinions, the couple said internally the community is the same.

Except, the show has enticed more tourism and business to the town.

As for the family themselves, they say the show hasn't changed them much besides demanding time. Then again, that leads them to appreciate the little things, according to Erin. As for their sons, the show inspired them to take speech classes.
