YORK, NE - Congratulations to Makena Schramm! The Fairbury sophomore finished in third place in the 170-pound division at the Nebraska State Wrestling Coaches Association State Tournament today.

Schramm won two matches yesterday to qualify for the semifinals today. She lost by fall to Kaylee Ricketts of Wahoo in 3:45. She recovered quickly, though, as she moved to the consolation bracket. There, Schramm pinned Lila Bloomer of South Loup in 4:29 to advance to the third place match. She won by fall in 2:52 over Gia Blanks of Bellevue West.

Schramm is the first girls wrestler to earn a medal for Fairbury.

Junior Raquel Moore of Beatrice (124) - was pinned by Kristen Schellenberg of Scribner-Snyder
Sophomore Baylee Tracy of Fairbury (124) - lost a tough one in a 3-2 decision to Kaitlyn Jeffrey of Platteview
Sophomore Rita Ceballos of Johnson County Central (142) lost by fall to Yohaly Quinones of South Sioux City
