OMAHA, Neb. – There’s more money available to folks in Omaha who are struggling to pay their rent or heat their homes and apartments due to COVID-19.

In addition to $10 million in federal funds the city received earlier this year, the federal government has now kicked in another $22 million.

“That is to help those struggling with Covid-related costs, including rent and utility assistance,” Omaha mayor Jean Stothert said.

Stothert says the city will be working with an Omaha nonprofit to establish an application process and distribution of the funds.

That earlier $10 million went to help people pay the rent, job creation, homes for the homeless, food for senior citizens and small businesses.
