GRAND ISLAND - The top girls team in Class C has fired its head coach and will be losing its leading scorer.

Stacia Rice posted on social media Tuesday afternoon that she has been "let go" by Grand Island Central Catholic.

Rice was in the middle of her sixth year leading the program that is currently 14-0 this season and ranked No. 1 in Class C1.

Rice's twitter post said that her daughter Rylie would not finish the season with the Crusaders and will transfer to Northwest. The junior guard was GICC's leading scorer, averaging 19 points per game.
