NORFOLK, Neb. -- A crash at the intersection of Highway 275 and Highway 24 in Norfolk sent two people to the hospital Wednesday night.

The accident, which happened at 7:55 p.m., involved a pickup and a semi truck.

Norfolk Police, Norfolk Rescue, the Nebraska State Patrol, and the Stanton County sheriff’s office responded to the scene. A northbound Chevrolet pickup collided with a southbound semi that was turning east onto Highway 275. Two occupants in the pickup were transported to Faith Regional Hospital with injuries. The driver of the semi was issued a citation for failure to yield right-of-way.

The intersection was temporarily closed as a result of the accident.
