WAYNE - Prior to Thursday, the Norfolk Catholic boys basketball team had been averaging almost 68 points per game.

But Wayne's defense ground the Knights to a halt, limiting Norfolk Catholic to a season-low point total in a 55-43 win.

The Blue Devils saw strong play off their bench (Dylan Kneifl and Andrew Jones each had seven points) and guard Tanner Walling tallied a season-high 19 points for Wayne.

The Blue Devils have now defeated Norfolk Catholic in eight of their last nine meetings.

Wayne improves to 10-2 ahead of a home matchup with Boone Central on Saturday, while 7-3 Norfolk will try to bounce back on the road Tuesday against Columbus Scotus.
