NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - The Lincoln County Commissioners held their first meeting of the year on Jan. 4, 2021. It was business as usual for the commissioners after their long holiday break. There were not many items on the agenda for the commissioner in the first meeting of the new year, but they were all happy to be back to serve Lincoln County.

This meeting was one commissioner, Walt Johnson, last meeting as he embarks on new endeavors.

“It is a great start to the year. We are sad to say goodbye to one of our board members,’ said Joe Hewgley, Lincoln County Commissioner District #1. “The swearing-in ceremony, I believe, is in district court Thursday morning. We are looking forward to that, working with the new board, and looking forward to a new year.”

Although the commissioners are unsure about what items will be brought before them in the future, they are optimistic about what’s to come in the upcoming year.

The swearing-in for current and new commissioners will be on Jan. 7.
