Multiple charges for Jordan Martinez

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - On January 1 at 8:11 p.m., a Deputy with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department saw a vehicle being driven erratically westbound on East 4th Street in North Platte.

The Deputy initiated a traffic stop and the vehicle pulled over at Fifth and Silber Street. The driver of the vehicle was identified as 25-year old Jordan Martinez of North Platte.

The deputy reported Martinez becoming immediately belligerent. Reporting further that Martinez smelled of alcohol, showed signs of impairment and would not cooperate in any manner. Another deputy arrived to assist and Martinez refused to get out of the vehicle.

Eventually, Martinez did exit the car and was placed in handcuffs. Martinez again refused to do as instructed and began to resist all efforts to place him in the patrol vehicle. A third deputy arrived and Martinez eventually was restrained further. In the scuffle to restrain Martinez a deputy suffered a dislocated and fractured finger. The deputy was treated and released from Great Plains Health. While restraining Martinez, deputies discovered a concealed 9 mm pistol in his waistband.

Martinez was placed in the Lincoln County Detention Center and charged for the following offenses; Driving While Intoxicated 2nd Offense, Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Assault on an Officer, Assault on an Officer with Bodily Fluid, Resisting Arrest 2nd Offense, Driving Under Revocation, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Open Container of Alcohol.
