Madison City of Northeast Nebraska saw its first ever Madtown Holidazzle Lighting of the Park Saturday night.

The display is available until January 3 at the Barnes Park Arboretum.

Organizer Janelle Tores said she hopes it will bring the community to finally check out the tree park.

"This year everything has been weird," she said, but "We can still go out and do things outside with the community."

Local businesses and organizations designed designated areas. You can still add decorations for free by calling the city office.

"It's just a good opportunity to see everyone," said Rob Fite, Madison City Council president.

Volunteers included the utility department which wired the park in one week.

"I was very proud to see the final product," said volunteer Janaya Parks.
