Old Norfolk theater will start renovations

NORFOLK, Neb. - After years of talking about it, a northeast Nebraska renovation is coming to life.
Conover Properties is fixing up an old theater in downtown Norfolk; transforming it into apartments and venue spaces.
"All of our renovations up until now have been in surrounding communities," said Ben Conover, owner of Conover Properties. "Me, being from Norfolk, this is the first one I've worked with the city on so far. So I'm hoping with everything else going down there and restaurants and making a pretty vibrant place, that this will add a lot of value."
Conover says it's building nine apartments on the top while using 9,000 square feet on the bottom to host potential vendors.
Construction is set to start next week, and Conover estimates it will be finished in August.
