BEATRICE – An estranged southern Gage County couple have been ordered to serve three-year probation terms, after being convicted of drug counts in Gage County District Court. 

54-year-old David Shepardson, of Wymore was convicted of attempted delivery of methamphetamine near a school or playground.  Two other felonies against him were dropped.  49-year-old Leslie Shepardson, of Blue Springs was also convicted of attempted delivery of a controlled substance, with two other felonies dismissed.

Both must forfeit any money that was seized in the investigation resulting in their arrests.

District Judge Rick Schreiner noted that neither defendant had a significant prior criminal record.

The arrests stem from separate search warrants served on David Shepardson’s home on December 11th of 2019….and Leslie Shepardson’s residence this past June 20th.  Deputies were led by David Shepardson to a tool box in his garage, where 3.9 grams of meth was located.  Officers also found a digital scale, paraphernalia and $352 in cash. 

In the search of Leslie Shepardson’s home, authorities found 3.3 grams of meth, a digital scale, a suspected drug ledger and $140 in cash.

Both had been suspected of distributing methamphetamine.   In David Shepardson’s case, his residence is across the street from playground equipment at Arbor State Park in Wymore.
