Vaccines will go to those in high-risk environments first around December 15, but will not be mandatory. Mask mandates and regular guidelines will continue.
Two Covid-19 vaccines are expected to be ready by the end of the month, and already one thing is clear: There won't be enough to go around.
Doctors in the metro area will have more details about distribution by the end of the week. But right now, they say only 15,000 vaccines will be coming to Nebraska in the initial rollout.
Both Catholic Health Initiatives and Bryan Health in Lincoln updated their expectations Tuesday.
They said that while the public will be able to receive vaccines by late spring, the first round will only be available to healthcare workers.Health experts say another concern as vaccines start to roll out is getting it to rural communities. They will need resources to keep the vaccines in -94 degrees Fahrenheit.
