WAYNE COUNTY, NE - The Nebraska Passport Program saw a record number of participants last year. 


The program to inspire travel in return for prizes saw 1,185 people visit every stop on its list this year. That's up 200 from the year before.


The program promotes unique destinations across the state such as Rosita's restaurant in Scottsbluff, The Farmer's Wife in Lindsay, Hastings' Big Foot Museum, or Aquapop in Wayne County.

The owner of Aquapop said he likes how it gets people to try new things.

"We've definitely had people come who wouldn't have stopped by otherwise," Adam Manoucheri, co-owner said. 

People of all ages came from over 40 states and 460 Nebraskan communities to stop at each destination. The program claims to have brought in $2 million this year to the state of Nebraska.
