Metropolitan Utilities District upping relief fund

Omaha metro customers having trouble paying their gas and water bills to receive additional support

There's positive news for folks in the Omaha metro area having trouble paying their gas and water bills.

The Metropolitan Utilities District is now able to up its relief fund from $750 to $1,200 per customer.

The extra money is coming from the federal CARES Act, and a vote by the Douglas County Board.

To apply for the funds, go the MUD website.

The cut-off date to apply for the funds is December 15, and the District urges customers to apply as soon as possible.
