WAYNE, Neb. — The number of active COVID-19 cases at a Northeast Nebraska college has more than doubled in the past week.

As of Monday, Wayne State College is reporting 36 active positive cases. This is an increase of 20 active cases since November 2nd.

The total number of positive cases is now at 239, with 203 returned to campus.

The college’s athletic department held its annual basketball intrasquad scrimmages on Tuesday, but the Wildcat athletic department announced on Monday that it would no longer be open to the public due to COVID-19 concerns.
