Large tree snapped by wind in Riverside Park
BEATRICE – Strong winds blew across most of Nebraska on Sunday, knocking some branches down, but apparently not causing any significant problems with electrical power loss.
A large tree was among the victims in west Beatrice. The tree fell in Riverside Park, landing not far from some playground equipment.
Winds were gusting between 50 to 60 miles-per-hour at many Nebraska locations, with the top wind gusts of 63 and 64 miles-per-hour recorded near Waco and St. Paul.
Much of the southeast and south-central areas of the state were under a wind advisory from nine a.m. to six p.m.
