(Peru, Neb.) – This will be the second season a Peru State men's basketball junior varsity program will be playing. This comes after a long hiatus of not having any JV programs on the Bobcat campus.

In their first season, the 'Cats went 2-12 and are looking to build upon that this season.

They will look to start the 2020-21 season off right as they take on York College in York, Neb. on Friday, Oct. 23, at 7 p.m. York will be streaming the game: https://portal.stretchinternet.com/yorkneb/

The next day, York will come to Peru, Neb. for the first home game for the men's junior varsity program. Tip off will be shortly after1 p.m. The game will be able to view on stretch: https://portal.stretchinternet.com/perust/

Returners

The JV program will bring back six players from last year's inaugural season. They include sophomores 5-11 guard Marcus Davis (Kansas City, Kan.), 5-11 guard Carlos Austin Jr. (Raymore, Mo.), 6-0 guard Armahn Downing (Topeka, Kan.), 5-11 guard Logan Jasa (Sterling), 6-1 guard Drew Bippes (Falls City), and 6-3 guard/forward Drake Adams (Wymore).

In addition, 6-3 guard Sam Regan (Atchison, Kan.) was with the program last year while using a redshirt season.

Newcomers

The coaching staff put together another strong recruiting class for the JV program. There are nine new players in for the 2020-2021 season. All freshmen, they include 5-11 guard Rene Santiago (Omaha/Millard North HS), 6-1 guard Elijah Mitchell (Omaha/Millard North HS), 6-2 guard Tre Norman (Omaha/Bellevue East HS), 5-11 guard Josh Wickstrom (Omaha/Millard West HS), 6-7 forward Muoch Chagey (Omaha/Omaha South HS), 6-2 guard Gerardo Chavez-Madrid (Wahoo/Wahoo HS), 6-3 forward Terrance Belvin (Omaha/Omaha South HS), 6-5 forward Rashawn McNeal-Lee (Omaha/Omaha South HS), and 6-6 Jackson Junker (Lincoln/Palmyra HS).

This year, only home fans will be allowed into contests for the foreseeable future. This is at the guidance of the Council of Presidents for the Heart.
