NDCS employee arrested

A worker with the Nebraska Prison System is facing charges.

Prison Officials say 26-year-old Chianda Young, a canteen operator at the Omaha Correctional Center, was arrested by the Nebraska State Patrol on Wednesday for unauthorized communication with an inmate. 

Young has been employed by the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services since 2019.

This is the only facility where she has worked. She also resigned from her position.
