Farmers and ranchers brave conditions to take care of cattle

The winter weather across Nebraska and nearby regions has been creating travel and work difficulties, and the effect is not limited to humans. At least three feedlots were battling the conditions on Sunday.
Cameron Korth, co-owner of NENF Feedlot and Korth Feedlots Trucking in Randolph, shared an image of his efforts trying to feed cattle on Sunday. Korth’s truck was unable to reach its destination unscathed, getting stuck on the way to reach the cattle.
Joan Ruskamp of J&S Feedlots also shared her hard work on Twitter on Sunday, braving the conditions to clear out bunkers for her cattle just outside of Dodge.
In Platte County, Ryan Loseke from Loseke Feedyard was also out feeding cattle and embracing unique interactions.
Northeast Nebraska saw record snow conditions for this time of year, racking up almost four inches of snow. The western half of the state received even more, with over a foot of snow in some areas, including 14 inches in Dalton.
