BEATRICE, NE — Roads are slick in southeast Nebraska after the first snow of the season fell in the area.
As of 8:00 Monday morning, the Nebraska Department of Transportation 511 map lists all area highways as partially or completely covered with snow. Highways in the Beatrice and Geneva areas are listed as being in the worst condition. The DOT says they are completely covered with snow and blowing snow.
The state’s Plow Tracker website shows several road crews out clearing highways. There were 13 plows working highways in the KUTT and KWBE listening areas at 8:00 a.m.
We’re still waiting on final snow totals from the area but there are several reports from around the state.
