BAYARD, NE - Health officials are asking people who attended the Heirloom Market in Bayard to monitor their symptoms.

According to Panhandle Public Health District, multiple people who attended the market on Sunday, Oct. 10, have tested positive since the event. They are asking anyone that was there to self-monitor their symptoms through October 24th.

Health officials say the site has been identified as a community exposure site because those who tested positive are unable to identify everyone they were near. Organizers of the market have been working with health officials and vendors to notify people of possible exposure.

If you attended the market and start showing symptoms consistent with COVID-19, health officials say you should get tested and self-quarantine until you receive the results.

Symptoms of COVID-19 include cough, fever, shortness of breath, sore throat, runny nose, body chills, headache, loss of taste or smell, nausea and vomiting or diarrhea.
