Law enforcement suspects arson at North Platte grass fire

The North Platte Fire Department responded to a grass fire early Tuesday.

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) -The North Platte Fire Department responded to a grass fire early Tuesday.

It happened at 3:30 a.m. near the residence of 5856 South Old Highway 83. Fire crews say a mailbox was started on fire with fire works.

The fire spread and burned two acres of land. No structures were damaged.

This case is being investigated as arson by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.
