General Elections when a President will be picked, are normally high turnout elections.
Gage County Clerk and Election Commissioner, Dawn Hill said her office had received nearly 55-hundred requests for early ballots, as of Wednesday…..already approaching the nearly six-thousand received for the Primary.
Ballots begin going out September 28th…with office staff now putting labels on envelopes and preparing to stuff them with the ballots.
Hill says a Washington-based organization that has been sending out letters locally indicating someone at a residence may not be registered to vote has been unnerving for some, and perhaps a bit confusing about whether they are actually registered to cast a ballot. Hill says her office welcomes questions about registration or whether your early ballot request has been received.
Gage County began using a new drop box outside the courthouse for election materials only. It’s located along the west side of Seventh Street, next to postal service mailboxes.
