(Peru, Neb.) – Peru State athletic department officials have determined to go ahead with its annual golf classic which was moved from May 22.

Brenda Lutz, tournament director, and Wayne Albury, athletic director, discussed the possibilities of holding the tournament with Table Creek Golf Course owners. It was mutually agreed to move the tournament date to Friday, Oct. 2.

Although most of Nebraska's Direct Health Measures have been lifted, Lutz and Albury are noting that there will be changes to the tournament due to the Covid-19 pandemic in order to protect all participants' health and safety.

October 2 is the day before the 2020 Homecoming which could allow for Bobcat alumni, families, and friends to come back and have some fun before Saturday's football game.

There will be a slight change in the day's event as registration will begin at 8 a.m. with a shotgun start to begin at 9 a.m. A lunch will be provided following the tournament. Most everything will take place outside, including registration, and the silent auction – weather permitting.

This is a fun tournament where those interested in Bobcat athletics can come and meet with various Bobcat coaches. You can connect with your fellow alumni and friends and compete for hole and flight prizes.

The cost is $400 per team of four or $100 per individual which includes green fees, carts, and the meal.

For more information about the golf tournament, please contact Brenda Lutz at 402-872-2350 or by email at [email protected]. The registration deadline for the tournament is Friday, September 25.
