Peru State Men's CC Signs Andrew Black Elk

(Peru, Neb.) – Andrew Black Elk of Rushville recently signed his letter of intent to run for the Peru State men's cross country team. Coach James Cole recently announced Black Elk's signing.
The son of Mandi Musfelt is majoring in mathematics education at Peru State. He graduated from Gordon-Rushville High School. Black Elk participated in track and basketball at Gordon-Rushville.
Black Elk is serving as a mentor for Student Success Services on campus. Recently, he was elected as the president of a new student organization on campus – Students Active in Leadership (SAIL).
"Andrew Black Elk is an on-campus find," commented Cole. Continuing, Cole stated, "He ran cross country in high school and is very excited for the opportunity to compete again. We are looking forward to helping him get back out on the cross country courses again."
After having their first meet cancelled due to the Covid-19 at the host institution, Peru State is scheduled to open this coming Friday in Salina, Kan. Kansas Wesleyan is hosting the Coyote Invitational.
