The Sioux County football team once again has an 8-game schedule after agreeing to play McCool Junction in Chappell on Thursday at 1:00 pm.

The game comes as McCool Junction lost their original opponent, Santee, due to COVID-19 related issues.

The Warriors were supposed to be open to start the season, but lost their Sept. 18th game against Guernsey-Sunrise, WY when travel due to the coronavirus became an issue.

When reached by phone on Tuesday night, Sioux County football Barry Swisher simply stated, “We might as well, it will be good for us.”

The Warriors will be in the middle of a rebuild after last seasons playoff run. McCool Junction is ranked preseason #1 by both the Omaha World Herald and Lincoln Journal Star after finishing as runner-ups last year.
