STANTON COUNTY - The City of Stanton is looking for ways to spruce up its downtown.

Since March, the City, along with Five Rule Rural Planning, have come up with a plan to revitalize Stanton's downtown and historical buildings.

On Tuesday, a walk-through was held to present the culmination of public input and work the engineering team has completed.

It was a way to visualize the project and the impact on the community.

Bobbi Pettit, owner of Five Rule Rural Planning says the project's goal is to beautify the town, but also keep the history intact.

"There are a lot of small-towns, a lot of communities like Stanton, and Stanton is a good example that has really held onto themselves if that makes sense. They still look like small-town America, a Norman Rockwell painting." Pettit says.

Funds for the improvement would come from a federal grant given out by the Nebraska Department of Economic Development.

Once finalized, the revitalization plans will be sent to the Stanton City Council to take up for consideration.
