Pilger Man Arrested Following DWI Crash

STANTON COUNTY - A Pilger man is facing DWI charges following an accident in Stanton County Friday night.
The Stanton County Sheriff's Office says deputies responded to a one-vehicle accident which shutdown Highway 275 just before 11 PM Friday. The accident occurred when 26-year-old Jose Garcia-Ramirez of Pilger drove off the roadway and struck a guardrail on a bridge just west of Pilger.
Garcia-Ramirez was treated at the scene by Pilger Rescue, but declined medical transport. He was found to be under the influence of alcohol, and was arrested for DWI, reckless driving, and no operators license.
Garcia-Ramirez was jailed pending the posting of a cash bond. Damage to the guardrail and bridge approach is estimated at over $30,000, and the vehicle is a total loss.
