HEBRON, NE - Rain and storms raged across the state Wednesday evening, setting a new record in one Nebraska town.

According to the National Weather Service, 2.86 inches of rain fell in Hebron on Wednesday, bringing the July total up to a whopping 16.16 inches!

That total makes July 2020 the wettest July on record, crushing the mark of just under 15 inches set in 1992.

As NWS officials looked deeper, they discovered the July total is even more impressive than they thought. This month is the wettest calendar month, for any month, ever recorded in Hebron.

The old high score came in 1908 when 15.5 inches of rain was recorded.
