CEDAR COUNTY - A former village clerk in Cedar County has pleaded guilty to theft.

In Cedar County District Court on Monday, Rose Rolfes pleaded guilty to stealing from the Village of Wynot.

Court records say the original charge was for theft by deception from the village of the amount of $1,500 to $4,999, but was later changed to $501 to $1,499.

Rolfes was removed from the position in 2019.

Records say she took a plea deal which changed the charge from a Class 4 felony to a misdemeanor.

Sentencing is set for September 14th in Cedar County District Court.
