KIMBALL, NE - A Kimball man will go to trial in September after an incident in April in which authorities say he threatened to shoot another man.

Kenneth Childs's trial will start on September 24th, according to court documents. The date was decided during a hearing Tuesday.

Childs is charged with felony terroristic threats and false reporting, which is a misdemeanor.

According to an affidavit, Childs threatened to kill another resident on April 9th. The victim reported the incident to police and the Kimball County Sheriff's Office arrested Childs the next day. While being arrested, Childs claimed the other resident had threatened him as well.

Childs told police he had reported the incident to police. A check of records showed Childs never reported someone threatening him, leading to the false reporting charge.

A pretrail hearing is scheduled for September 1st.
