A possible hate crime is under investigation in Omaha.
Racist writings and symbols were painted on the grass at Zorinsky Lake on the city's far southwest part of town, according to Mayor Jean Stothert.
The comments were removed by the city yesterday (Tuesday).
The mayor did not specify the exact graffity but says it's not indicative of what Omaha's citizens believe.
We're told the police department is investigating and any hate crime convictions would bring potentially longer jail sentences.
