COLUMBUS - A staff member of the Columbus Downtown Business Association is accused of shoplifting.

Columbus police said earlier this month, the organization's coordinator Barb Siedlik was at Walmart when an employee saw her replacing price tags and concealing store items on herself.

A CPD spokesman said the employee told them they followed her to the checkout aisle and watched Siedlik "skip scanning" items before confronting her.

Police said Walmart staff kept her at the store until officers arrived.

Siedlik is scheduled to appear in court on July 22.

She gave no comment when News Channel Nebraska reached out to her.
