GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - Bowling, skating, miniature golf and going to the movies isn't the only thing to do in Grand Island anymore. One axe throwing business popped up in the city and the good news is, they're now open.

Axe Holes located on 2300 N. Webb Rd. held a soft opening last week and if you haven't guessed it, axe throwing is their main attraction They have seven lanes and 14 targets. People can get the thrill of throwing an axe for fun or they can do other activities. The business also offers archery tag, complimentary cornhole and giant Jenga.

"After their done with the activities archery tag or axe throwing, they can come in to watch and just partake in the complimentary activities," said owner of Axe Holes, Eric Christensen.

Christensen grew up in Grand Island and wanted to give the city what it was missing.

"Growing up here there wasn't a ton to do. We obviously had Skate Island, miniature golf, bowling and the movies but that was about it. My goal was to not just to have a business for myself and my family but to bring something exciting to Grand Island," said Christensen.

In order to play archery tag you must be seven years or older and for axe throwing, 10 years or older. Also, anyone who is under 18 and wants to throw an axe must bring a parent or guardian. Axe Holes requires everyone to sign a liability waiver to participate in the activities. They also require everyone to wear closed-toe shoes.

People can come by themselves or in groups. The business has party rooms and can host graduation parties, sports teams or corporate gatherings. It costs per hour to play but birthday and graduation parties affected by COVID-19 get a discount. For more information on pricing visit their website
