Crofton’s Dam Race on schedule for July 25
An annual northeast Nebraska summer event will go on as planned.

CROFTON, NE — An annual northeast Nebraska summer event will go on as planned.
Organizers of Crofton’s Dam Race announced Tuesday that their competition will happen on July 25th. The event has been approved by the Nebraska Game and Parks and the North Central District Health Department. There will be some added safety measures including a virtual pre-race meeting, limiting spectators and sanitizing equipment.
“It’s been refreshing to work with leadership at the Nebraska Game & Parks,” says Heidi Marsh, race co-director. “We’re fortunate to have such a beautiful park near Crofton. I can’t wait to introduce it to more racers every year!”
Crofton’s Dam Race is in its third year. Participants have the option of competing in a sprint triathlon with kayaking instead of swimming, a half marathon or a 12-mile bike race. There’s a celebration lunch and awards ceremony afterward.
The event is held at the Lewis and Clark State Recreation Area and proceeds benefit the creation of a safe pedestrian trail in the area.
To have a successful race, the committee would like to have at least 50 registrations by July 10. Athletes can register at AllSportCentral.com or visit CroftonsDamRace.com for more information.
