SIDNEY - The development of numerous thunderstorms is in the forecast across a large portion of southeast Wyoming, northeast Colorado and the Nebraska Panhandle.

A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect 8 p.m. Saturday for the following counties:

Nebraska: Banner, Box Butte, Cheyenne, Dawes, Kimball, Morrill Scotts Bluff and Sioux

Wyoming: Goshen and Laramie

Colorado: Logan, Sedgwick and Phillips

According to the National Weather Service office in Cheyenne, the possibility of severe weather will continue until at least 6 p.m.

The NWS says wind gusts to 70 MPH will be the primary hazard, although isolated hail up to golf ball size is also possible especially over western Nebraska.

A high wind warning also remains in effect until 9 p.m. Saturday night for northeast Colorado. Winds will be sustained at 30-40 MPH with gusts around 60 MPH.
