Stanton County Pursuit Ends With Two Arrests
Two people are facing charges after authorities say they threw a pound of marijuana out of their car during a high-speed chase in Stanton County.

STANTON COUNTY - Two people are facing charges after authorities say they threw a pound of marijuana out of their car during a high-speed chase in Stanton County.
The Stanton County Sheriff's Office says around 1:30 Wednesday afternoon, Sheriff Mike Unger saw a car speeding on Highway 275 at 94 mph in a 70 mph zone.
Authorities say the car accelerated westbound on Highway 275 and then quickly turned north on South Eastwood and continued on the county road as it was pursued north.
The car eventually came to a stop near East Norfolk Avenue.
The driver Martrail Edwards, 20, of Norfolk was taken into custody on charges of Speeding, Willful Reckless Driving, Operating a Motor Vehicle to Avoid Arrest, Possession of concentrated THC, and Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Deliver.
The Sheriff's Office says that nearly a pound of marijuana was thrown from the car during the pursuit and was found in a ditch along South Eastwood.
A male passenger, Marlin Clemons, 28, of Norfolk was also taken into custody on charges of Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Deliver.
A female passenger was also detained but was not charged at this time.
Both Edwards and Clemons were booked and later released after posting cash bonds.
