LINCOLN, NE - Lincoln residents say they will continue to protest this week in the capital city.

Hundreds of protestors gathered at the Hall of Justice Tuesday night before marching to that state capitol for a rally.  Protest organizers say they plan to hold similar events through the week and into the weekend.

Speakers on Tuesday said their movement would not criticize people who looted.

"I do not encourage or condone the rioting or the looting, but something I will not do is vilify our brothers and sisters. They are people and they are angry."

The leaders of this movement do say it will be peaceful.

One speaker also took aim at many institutions and political leaders.  Those called out included Governor Pete Ricketts, U.S. Senators Ben Sasse and Deb Fischer, Lincoln Mayor Leirion Gaylor Baird, the University of Nebraska, the Nebraska State College System and the media.

The speaker said politicians can praise the protestors but it doesn't mean anything if they don't offer policy changes.

"We need to know that there will be a criteria for a number of black teachers in our school.  We need to know that there will be a criteria for black officers so y'all can stop killing us. We need to know what your changes are going to be systemically because systemically that is what's killing us."
