The Cheyenne County Sheriff's Office is warning residents of a phone call where a scammer tries to get personal info to steal someone's identity.

Officials say the scam call came from a Los Angeles area phone number. The call is an automated message, claiming to be from the social security office.

The message tells the caller they have federal warrants and if they do not want to be arrested to call the number back.

If you call back, the person on the other end of the line begins to ask for personal information. The Cheyenne County Sheriff's Office warns that this is just a scam to get the information to steal your identity.

The number the call came from was 213-725-5907.
